Abstract

The possibility of decreasing of index of coarse oxide inclusions in peripheral part of continuous billets of 0.1 % C steel by Ti alloying was investigated. It was found that vacuum-carbon preliminary deoxidation and SiC treatment of slag assure minimal losses of Ti during solution, high metal cleanliness and high quality of continuous billets. Factors which affect on composition and size of oxide inclusions in Ti bearing 0.1% C steel were analyzed. It was found that Ti adds decrease of coarse oxide inclusions index. [Rus].
