MetLab L.L.C. - the technologies for superalloys and special steels production
Tel.: +7 (903) 089 37 81
MAIN ACTIVITIES:
- Technological consulting and development of technology for production of Nickel-base alloys and special steels by Vacuum Induction Melting (VIM) and Vacuum Arc Remelting (VAR).
- Development and installation of turnkey the VAR control system, which is characterized in that the system dramatically reduces the duration of the arc glow in the course of remelting.
- Development of the VIM control system, which is characterized in that the system provides precise refining and balanced residual concentration of REM, Mg, S, O, etc. in ingots and as a consequence increase of mechanical properties and hot ductility of hard-deformable alloys.
- Technological consulting and development of technology for ladle treatment of high quality steels.
- Development of thermodynamic models and software to calculate the generation and transformation of nonmetallic inclusions during ladle treatment, casting and solidification.
- Analysis of the metal, slag and refractories by the methods of electron microscopy. Identifying the causes of defects in cast and deformed metal.
EXPERIENCE:
- Development of new approaches for precise micro alloying of superalloys by rare earth elements and magnesium during vacuum induction melting (VIM) for the purpose of the alloy’s hot workability improvement.
- Investigation of VIM process factors effect on magnesium evaporation from Ni-base alloys.
- Investigation of rare earth elements interaction with crucible lining, slag, and crucible scull during VIM of Ni-base alloys.
- Development of Vacuum Induction Melting Control system.
- Development of theoretical basis for VIM production of superalloys.
- Development of a method for computation of oxygen activity in liquid metals that are strongly alloyed by elements with strong oxygen affinity, for more precise thermodynamic calculation of deoxidation reactions into superalloys.
- Development of the basis for the thermodynamic model and software for simulation of oxide inclusions transformation in liquid steels.
- Development of secondary steel-making technique for production of HIC (Hydrogen Induced Cracking) resistant pipe-line steel.
- Development of secondary steel-making and continuous slab casting technique for the purpose of low silicon LCAK-steel slab quality improvement.
- Development of secondary steel-making technique for production of high quality high carbon steels (inclusions cleanliness improvement).
- Development of the model and software for simulation of oxide inclusions transformation during secondary steel-making and casting.
